But the king saith unto him, Inquire of the Lord, and if he saith unto us Go, we will go; otherwise we will perish in the land.

But the king said to him, “Ask the Lord. If he says to go, we will go. If not, we will die in this land.”

The king insisted, “Ask the Lord first. If he says go, we’ll go. Otherwise we’ll stay here and die.”
