Alma 26:24
1830 Edition
For they said unto us, Do ye suppose that ye can bring the Lamanites to the knowledge of the truth? Do ye suppose that ye can convince the Lamanites of the incorrectness of the traditions of their fathers, as stiffnecked a people as they are; whose hearts delighteth in the shedding of blood; whose days have been spent in the grossest iniquity; whose ways have been the ways of a transgressor, from the beginning? Now my brethren, ye remember that this was their language.

They said to us: Do you think you can bring the Lamanites to know the truth? Do you think you can show the Lamanites that their fathers’ teachings are wrong? They are such a stubborn people. Their hearts love to kill. They have spent their days doing terrible things. They have been doing wrong from the beginning. My brothers, you remember that this is what they said.
Paraphrase
“They said, ‘Do you really think you can bring the Lamanites to the truth? Do you think you can convince them their ancestors were wrong—a people as stubborn as they are? They love violence. They’ve spent their whole lives in terrible sin. They’ve been rebels from the start.’ That’s what they said, remember?”
