Alma 26:20
1830 Edition
O my soul, almost as it were, fleeth at the thought. Behold, he did not exercise his justice upon us, but in his great mercy hath brought us over that everlasting gulf of death and misery, even to the salvation of our souls.
Changes
Oh, my soul, almost as it were, fleeth at the thought. Behold, he did not exercise his justice upon us, but in his great mercy hath brought us over that everlasting gulf of death and misery, even to the salvation of our souls.
Simple English
I almost run away when I think about it. He did not punish us. Instead, he has been very kind to us. He has brought us over that big gulf of death and sadness. He has saved our souls.
Paraphrase
“My soul almost can’t bear to think about it. He didn’t exercise his justice on us. Instead, in his great mercy, he carried us over that everlasting gulf of death and misery, all the way to salvation.”
