Alma 25:8

Now this martyrdom caused that many of their brethren should be stirred up to anger; and there began to be contention in the wilderness; and the Lamanites began to hunt the seed of Amulon and his brethren, and began to slay them, and they fled into the east wilderness.

Killing these believers made many Lamanites angry. Fighting broke out in the wilderness. The Lamanites began to hunt down Amulon’s family and kill them. They ran away to the east wilderness.

These killings enraged many other Lamanites. Fighting broke out in the wilderness. The Lamanites turned on Amulon’s descendants and started hunting them down. They fled deeper into the eastern wilderness.
