And it bordered upon the land which they called Desolation; it being so far northward that it came into the land which had been peopled, and had been destroyed, of whose bones we have spoken, which was discovered by the people of Zarahemla; it being the place of their first landing.

It bordered on the land they called Desolation. It was so far north that it came into the land where people had lived and been destroyed. We have talked about their bones. The people of Zarahemla found them. It was the place where they first landed.

Bountiful bordered the land called Desolation, far to the north—the land that had once been inhabited by the people whose bones were discovered by Zarahemla’s people. That’s where those ancient people first landed.
