Alma 22:3

And now, O king, if thou wilt spare our lives, we will be thy servants. And the king saith unto them, Arise, for I will grant unto you your lives, and I will not suffer that ye shall be my servants; but I will insist that ye shall administer unto me; for I have been somewhat troubled in mind, because of the generosity, and the greatness of the words of thy brother Ammon; and I desire to know the cause why he has not come up out of Middoni, with thee.

King, if you will let us live, we will be your servants. The king said to them: Stand up. I will let you live. I will not make you my servants. But I want you to help me. I have been troubled in my mind because of how kind your brother Ammon was and the great things he said. I want to know why he has not come up from Middoni with you.

“If you’ll spare our lives, we’ll serve you.” The king replied, “Stand up. I’ll spare you, but I won’t make you servants. I do want you to teach me, though. I’ve been deeply troubled by your brother Ammon—his kindness and his powerful words. I want to know why he didn’t come with you from Middoni.”
