Now Lamoni saith unto Ammon, I know, in the strength of the Lord, thou canst do all things. But behold, I will go with thee to the land of Middoni; for the king of the land of Middoni, whose name is Antiomno, is a friend unto me; therefore I go to the land of Middoni; that I may flatter the king of the land; and he will cast thy brethren out of prison. Now Lamoni saith unto him, Who told thee that my brethren were in prison?

Simple English

Lamoni said to Ammon, “I know that with the Lord’s strength, you can do anything. But I will go with you to the land of Middoni. The king of Middoni is named Antiomno. He is my friend. So I will go to Middoni to talk nicely to the king. He will let your friends out of prison.” Then Lamoni said to him, “Who told you that your friends were in prison?”

Paraphrase

Lamoni said, “I know that in the Lord’s strength you can do anything. But I’m coming with you to Middoni. The king there, Antiomno, is a friend of mine. I’ll talk to him and persuade him to release your brothers.” Then Lamoni asked him, “Who told you your brothers were in prison?”
