And when Ammon did meet them, he was exceeding sorrowful, for behold, they were naked, and their skins were worn exceedingly, because of being bound with strong cords. And they also had suffered hunger, thirst, and all kind of afflictions; nevertheless they were patient in all their sufferings.

When Ammon saw them, he was very sad. They had no clothes on. Their skin was worn badly from being tied with strong ropes. They had been hungry and thirsty. They had gone through all kinds of hard times. But they had been patient through all their troubles.

When Ammon saw them, his heart broke. They were naked, their skin rubbed raw from being bound with thick ropes. They’d suffered hunger, thirst, and every kind of hardship. But through it all, they’d been patient.
