Alma 2:12

therefore the people of the Nephites was aware of the intent of the Amlicites, and therefore they did prepare for to meet them; yea, they did arm themselves with swords, and with cimeters, and with bows, and with arrows, and with stones, and with slings, and with all manner of weapons of war, of every kind;

The Nephites knew what the Amlicites planned to do. So they got ready to fight. They got their weapons. They had swords and curved swords and bows and arrows and stones and slings. They had all kinds of weapons.

The Nephites knew what the Amlicites were planning, so they prepared for battle. They armed themselves with swords, scimitars, bows, arrows, stones, slings—every kind of weapon they had.
