Alma 2:1

And it came to pass in the commencement of the fifth year of their reign, there began to be a contention among the people, for a certain man, being called Amlici; he being a very cunning man, yea, a wise man, as to the wisdom of the world; he being after the order of the man that slew Gideon by the sword, who was executed according to the law.

In the fifth year, trouble started among the people. A man named Amlici was very smart and tricky. He followed the same ideas as the man who killed Gideon with a sword. That killer had been punished by the law.

In the fifth year of the judges, a man named Amlici started stirring up trouble. He was clever and shrewd in the ways of the world. He followed the same path as Nehor—the man who’d killed Gideon and been executed for it.
