Alma 12:11

and he that will harden his heart, to him is given the lesser portion of the word, until they know nothing concerning his mysteries; and then they are taken captive by the Devil, and led by his will down to destruction. Now this is what is meant by the chains of Hell;

But people who close their hearts get less and less of God’s word. Finally they know nothing about his secrets. Then the Devil traps them. He leads them wherever he wants. He leads them to be destroyed. This is what we mean by the chains of hell.

“Those who harden their hearts keep getting less and less until they know nothing about God’s mysteries. Then the devil captures them and leads them wherever he wants, straight to destruction. That’s what we mean by the chains of hell.
