Alma 10:19

yea, well did Mosiah say, who was our last king, when he was about to deliver up the kingdom, having no one to confer it upon, causing that this people should be governed by their own voices; yea, well did he say, that if the time should come that the voice of this people should choose iniquity; that is, if the time should come that this people should fall into transgression, they would be ripe for destruction.

“Mosiah was our last king. He had no one to give the kingdom to. So he made this people be led by their own voices. He said that if the time came when this people chose to do wrong, they would be ready for destruction. He was right.”

King Mosiah said it well—our last king, when he gave up the throne because there was no one to pass it to. He let the people govern themselves by their own voice. He said that if the day ever came when this people chose wickedness—if they fell into rebellion—they’d be ripe for destruction.
