3 Nephi 9:20

and ye shall offer for a sacrifice unto me a broken heart and a contrite spirit. And whoso cometh unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, him will I baptize with fire and with the Holy Ghost, even as the Lamanites, because of their faith in me, at the time of their conversion, were baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghost, and they knew it not.

“You must offer me a broken heart and a sorry spirit. I will baptize with fire and the Holy Spirit anyone who comes to me with a broken heart and sorry spirit. This is like the Lamanites when they believed in me. They were baptized with fire and the Holy Spirit. They did not even know it happened.”

“What I want from you is a broken heart and a humble spirit. If you come to me with a broken heart and a humble spirit, I will baptize you with fire and with the Holy Spirit—just as I did for the Lamanites when they believed in me. They were baptized with fire and the Holy Spirit, though they didn’t realize it at the time.”
