The Book of Mormon

3 Nephi 3:6

1830 Edition

therefore I write unto you desiring that ye would yield up unto this my people, your cities, your lands, and your possessions, rather than that they should visit you with the sword, and that destruction should come upon you;

Changes

tTherefore I write unto you, desiring that ye would yield up unto this my people, your cities, your lands, and your possessions, rather than that they should visit you with the sword, and that destruction should come upon you;.

Simple English

So I write to you and ask that you give my people your cities, your lands, and your things. This is better than having them attack you with their swords and destroy you.

Paraphrase

So I’m asking you: surrender your cities, lands, and possessions to my people. Better to yield than face our swords and certain destruction.
