3 Nephi 3:25

and they did fortify themselves against their enemies, and they did dwell in one land, and in one body, and they did fear the words which had been spoken by Lachoneus, insomuch that they did repent of all their sins; and they did put up their prayers unto the Lord their God, that he would deliver them in the time that their enemies should come down against them to battle.

They built walls to protect themselves from their enemies. They lived in one land and stayed together as one group. They were afraid of the words Lachoneus had said. So much that they turned away from all their sins. They prayed to the Lord their God. They asked him to save them when their enemies came down to fight them.

They fortified themselves against their enemies. They lived together in one land, as one people. Lachoneus’s words had shaken them so deeply that they turned away from all their sins and prayed to the Lord their God to deliver them when their enemies came down to battle.
