Now this change was not equal to that which should take place at the last day, but there was a change wrought upon them, insomuch that satan could have no power over them, that he could not tempt them, and they were sanctified in the flesh, that they were holy, and that the powers of the earth could not hold them;

Simple English

This change was not the same as the change that will happen on the last day. But there was a change to them. Satan could have no power over them. He could not tempt them. They were made holy. The powers of the earth could not hold them.

Paraphrase

This change wasn’t the same as what will happen on the last day. But they were changed enough that Satan had no power over them. He couldn’t tempt them. They were made holy in the flesh, so that nothing on earth could hold them.
