3 Nephi 21:6

for thus it behooveth the Father that it should come forth from the Gentiles, that he may shew forth his power unto the Gentiles, for this cause, that the Gentiles, if they will not harden their hearts, that they may repent and come unto me, and be baptized in my name, and know of the true points of my doctrine, that they may be numbered among my people, O house of Israel;

The Father wants it to come from the nations so he can show his power to them. He wants the nations to repent and come to me if they don’t harden their hearts. He wants them to be baptized in my name. He wants them to learn the true points of my teaching so they can be counted among my people from the house of Israel.

the Father wants it to come through the Gentiles so he can show his power to them. That way, if they don’t harden their hearts, they can turn back, come to me, be baptized in my name, and learn the truth of my teachings. Then they’ll be counted among my people, the house of Israel.
