Then shall they break forth into joy—sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the Father hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.

Simple English

“Then they will break out in joy. Sing together, you empty places of Jerusalem. The Father has comforted his people. He has saved Jerusalem.”

Paraphrase

“Then they’ll burst into song—sing together, you ruined places of Jerusalem, because the Father has comforted his people. He has rescued Jerusalem.”
