Father, I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given unto me out of the world, because of their faith, that they may be purified in me, that I may be in them as thou, Father, art in me, that we may be one, that I may be glorified in them.

Simple English

“Father, I am not praying for the world. I am praying for the people you have given me out of the world because of their faith. I pray that they will be made pure in me. I pray that I may be in them just as you, Father, are in me. Then we can be one. Then I can be honored in them.”

Paraphrase

“Father, I don’t pray for the world, but for these you’ve given me from the world because of their faith. May they be purified in me, so I may be in them as you are in me, Father—so we may be one, and I may be glorified in them.”
