The Book of Mormon

3 Nephi 18:25

1830 Edition

and ye see that I have commanded that none of you should go away, but rather have commanded that ye should come unto me, that ye might feel and see; even so shall ye do unto the world; and whosoever breaketh this commandment, suffereth himself to be lead into temptation.

Changes

aAnd ye see that I have commanded that none of you should go away, but rather have commanded that ye should come unto me, that ye might feel and see; even so shall ye do unto the world; and whosoever breaketh this commandment, suffereth himself to be lead into temptation.

Simple English

“You see that I didn’t tell anyone to go away. I told you to come to me so you could feel and see. Do the same thing for the world. Anyone who breaks this commandment lets himself be led into temptation.”

Paraphrase

“You saw that I didn’t send anyone away. Instead, I invited you to come close, to touch me and see for yourselves. Do the same for the world. Whoever breaks this command opens himself up to temptation.”
