Verily, verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery; and whoso shall marry her who is divorced, committeth adultery.

Simple English

I tell you the truth. Whoever divorces his wife causes her to commit adultery. The only reason to divorce is if she has been unfaithful. Whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Paraphrase

“But I tell you truly: anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual unfaithfulness, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.”
