But thus saith the Lord: Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for the Mighty God shall deliver his covenant people. For thus saith the Lord: I will contend with them that contendeth with thee,

Simple English

But the Lord says: “Even prisoners of the strong will be taken away. Stolen things from scary people will be set free. The Mighty God will save his people. The Lord says: ‘I will fight with those who fight with you.’”

Paraphrase

But this is what the Lord says: “Even captives held by warriors will be taken away. Even prey seized by the terrifying will be freed. The Mighty God will rescue his covenant people. This is what the Lord says: I will fight anyone who fights you.”
