And now I, Nephi, cannot write all the things which were taught among my people; neither am I mighty in writing, like unto speaking: for when a man speaketh by the power of the Holy Ghost, the power of the Holy Ghost carrieth it unto the hearts of the children of men.

Simple English

I, Nephi, can’t write everything that was taught to my people. I’m not as good at writing as I am at speaking. When a person speaks by the power of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit carries it into people’s hearts.

Paraphrase

I can’t write down everything we’ve been teaching—I’m not as strong with words on the page as I am when I’m speaking. When someone speaks by the power of the Holy Spirit, that power carries the message straight into people’s hearts.
