For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are they that hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom: for unto him that receiveth, I will give more; and them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.—

Simple English

The Lord God says: I will give people a little at a time. Bit by bit, I will teach them. Good things happen to those who listen to my teachings. They listen to my advice. They will learn wisdom. I will give more to those who receive. Those who say they have enough will lose even what they have.

Paraphrase

Here’s what the Lord God says: I give truth to people line by line, piece by piece, a little here and a little there. Blessed are those who listen to my teachings and pay attention to my guidance—they’ll grow wise. To those who receive, I’ll give more. But from those who say, ‘We have enough,’ even what they have will be taken away.
