For it shall come to pass in that day, that the churches which are built up, and not unto the Lord, when the one shall say unto the other, Behold, I, I am the Lord’s; and the other shall say, I, I am the Lord’s. And thus shall every one say, that hath built up churches, and not unto the Lord;

Changes

Simple English

In that day, churches will be built that do not follow the Lord. One will say: I am the Lord’s church. Another will say: I am the Lord’s church. Everyone who builds a church will say this, even if they do not follow the Lord.

Paraphrase

In that day, many churches will rise up—but not for the Lord. One will say, ‘We belong to the Lord!’ and another will say the same. Every church that builds itself up instead of building up God’s kingdom will claim they’re his.
