2 Nephi 2:27

Wherefore, men are free according to the flesh; and all things are given them which is expedient unto man. And they are free to choose liberty and eternal life, through the great mediation of all men, or to choose captivity and death, according to the captivity and power of the Devil: for he seeketh that all men might be miserable like unto himself.

So people are free to choose. Everything they need is given to them. They are free to choose freedom and life forever through the great helper for all people. Or they can choose to be trapped and die by the Devil’s power. He wants all people to be sad like him.

People are free in this life. Everything they need has been given to them. They’re free to choose freedom and eternal life through the great mediator for all humanity, or to choose slavery and death under the devil’s captivity and power. He wants everyone to be as miserable as he is.
