2 Nephi 1:5

But, said he, notwithstanding our afflictions, we have obtained a land of promise, a land which is choice above all other lands; a land which the Lord God hath covenanted with me should be a land for the inheritance of my seed. Yea, the Lord hath covenanted this land unto me, and to my children forever; and also all they which should be led out of other countries, by the hand of the Lord.

“Even though we have had hard times, we have gotten a promised land. This land is better than all other lands. The Lord God promised me that this land would be for my children. The Lord promised this land to me and my children forever. It is also for all people who the Lord brings out of other countries.”

“We’ve been through so much, but we’ve made it to the promised land—a land that’s better than any other. The Lord promised me this land would belong to my descendants forever. Not just to us, but to everyone he leads here from other places.”
