And now I would that ye might know, that after my father Lehi had made an end of prophesying concerning his seed, it came to pass that the Lord spake unto him again, saying, that it was not mete for him, Lehi, that he should take his family into the wilderness alone; but that his sons should take daughters to wife, that they might raise up seed unto the Lord in the land of promise.

Simple English

I want you to know that after my father Lehi finished prophesying about his children, the Lord spoke to him again. The Lord said it wasn’t right for Lehi to take his family to the wilderness alone. His sons should marry wives so they could have children for the Lord in the promised land.

Paraphrase

I, Nephi, want you to know what happened after my father finished prophesying about our family’s future. The Lord spoke to him again: “Lehi, you shouldn’t take your family into the wilderness alone. Your sons need to marry so they can have children in the promised land.”
