1 Nephi 6:1

And now I, Nephi, do not give the genealogy of my fathers in this part of my record; neither at any time shall I give it after upon these plates which I am writing; for it is given in the record which has been kept by my father; wherefore I do not write it in this work.

I, Nephi, will not write my family history in this part of my record. I will never write it on these plates I am writing. My father already wrote it in his record. So I don’t need to write it in this book.

I, Nephi, won’t be listing my family tree here. In fact, I won’t put it anywhere on these plates I’m writing. My father already recorded all that in his book, so there’s no need for me to repeat it.
