And it came to pass that they did rejoice exceedingly, and did offer sacrifice and burnt offerings unto the Lord; and they gave thanks unto the God of Israel.

Parallel: When the people learned of the success of the mission they rejoiced (see Judith 14:9). In both cases the people offered burnt offerings to the Lord (see Judith 16:18).
