1 Nephi 4:5

And it was by night; and I caused that they should hide themselves without the walls. And after that they had hid themselves, I, Nephi, crept into the city and went forth towards the house of Laban.

It was nighttime. I made them hide outside the walls. After they hid, I crept into the city and went toward Laban’s house.

Night had fallen. I told them to hide outside the walls. Once they were hidden, I slipped into the city alone and headed toward Laban’s house.
