and we cast lots which of us should go in unto the house of Laban. And it came to pass that the lot fell upon Laman; and Laman went in unto the house of Laban, and he talked with him as he sat in his house.

Simple English

We drew lots to see who should go to Laban’s house. Laman got picked. Laman went to Laban’s house and talked with him.

Paraphrase

We drew lots to see who would go to Laban’s house. Laman lost. So he went to Laban’s house and found him sitting there.
